We have just concluded a very successful three week run at the Little Victory Theatre in Burbank California. Several nights we sold out and had to turn people away, which made us feel bad, but people who got in REALLY seemed to like the show, which made us feel good.
We didn't sell that many CDs, which made us feel bad, but you know you can but the darn thing online, which makes us feel good.
We are also learning new software to make a dvd from the performance tapes which makes us feels either good or bad depending on how cooperative the computer is behaving.
Dvds and CDs in hand we will then reinflict ourselves on the producers and instructors of high school and college Drama Departments in hopes of convincing them that this IS indeed the show that will change their life.
Or at least entertain people for and hour and a half or so.
Thanks for checking in.
And here's some actual photos taken during the dress rehearsal by Margit's cousin Bob.

Molly (Margit Schmitt) poses pensively as she contemplates the triumph that is to be.
Either that or she hasn't quite figured out that chair thing.
We're going to go with "a" on this one |

OK, if there is one thing that I have learned with this show, it's that actors REALLY like their props and take them VERY seriously EVEN IF THEY WILL NEVER BE NOTICED BY ANYONE ELSE. Here, Bob (Christopher Gauntt) and Bonnie (Doreen Wiley) ponder the proper placement of a fake dead bug on the end of a pencil. Margit looks on with concern, while Pater (Scott Shaw) contemplates the existential moral questions raised by the sacrifice of petrochemicals for ephemeral art. |

Ah, the stark simplicity of a grad student's office as interpreted by the medium of the theatre! The pathos! The portraits! The product placement! |

The Professor (Mike Schmitt) reflects on the goodness of impending deandom. By the way,if anyone out there knows a good place to buy Hawaiian cotton shirts for REALLY big people, please drop us a line. |

The Friday night band, from left to right, Geoff Nudell, clarinet; Kurt Walther, drums; Bill Newlin, keyboards. Almost completely invisible underneath the high hat is the bass player and arranger and band leader Dominik Hauser. Note the exceeding authentic and believable "Music school" costumes worn by the band. Hear them play the entire OVERTURE!
